Students will benefit from obtaining a copy of a recent 'Criminal Law Cases & Materials book'.
Students each have to deliver a PowerPoint/iMindmap presentation on one/two specific parts of the Special Study Source Materials (students will be allocated the parts from the list below at the start of this subject area).
To do this each student needs to research the relevant sources in depth. They should go to http://www.bailii.org/ (or use a cases and materials textbook) and research the individual cases in relation to the designated source materials. Show how that area of law has developed/evolved - applying the principles of judicial precedent and statutory interpretation.
From this research, students should produce precis notes and then PowerPoint slides and/or an iMindmap for delivery to class. Any student who is not ready to deliver when asked will be given a third/fourth/fifth source to do. So, be ready!
Do not forget to email both of your presentations to ALL of your fellow class mates (and Dr Jepson).
Presentation One = Source 1 and 'Assault'.
Presentation Two = Sources 2 and 'Battery'
Presentation Three = Source 3 and 'Consent'.
Presentation Four = Source 4 and 'Biological GBH'.
Presentation Five = Source 5.
Presentation Six = Source 6.
Source materials can also be found in Appendix 2 of 'OCR Criminal Law for A2' by J Martin.
