Zero-tolerance: Please ensure that you attend all classes and submit your homework in on time.
Students who miss a lesson are required to do 'Additional Work'. This is to ensure that the student is on track for sitting examinations.
Students should print off the Intranet materials - BEFORE attending class - and take them to class with them ...

AS Government & Politics (AQA Board) consists of two units: Unit One (Governing Modern Britain) is taken in January, with Unit Two (People, Politics and Participation) taken in May/June. We do not believe students should re-sit AS units in their first year of study.
AS Politics timetable: Before the Christmas vacation we aim to complete unit Unit One plus 'Political Parties' (from Unit Two) Each subject area should take around two weeks to complete. There will be mock examinations, and an extensive revision programme, before the public examination in January (revision over the Christmas vacation is necessary - since we do not allow re-sits of Unit One in the same academic year).
After the January examinations, Unit Two will be completed. This Unit should be completed in time for the Easter revision programme. After the June Examinations - as a start to A2 US Politics - students will break into small teams to produce a podcast that reflects the politics and policies of the major Political Parties and/or Presidential candidates for a 'US Politics Podcast Competition' to be judged by the Principal.

Revision Tip ... "Practise timed exam answers every day. This is the single most important preparation for doing well. It will also flag the importance of preparing model answers."
Please note: These above Intranet materials need to be used in conjunction with the specified textbook. You should 'read and precis' the relevant sections of the textbook BEFORE you attend class so that we can have an informed discussion.
