It is recommended that first year AS Law Students purchase 'OCR Law for AS' by Jacqueline Martin (published by Hodder Arnold 2008). This course textbook will be needed for the read and precis exercises which start early in the first/second week of the course - hence you are advised to purchase ASAP.

Revision textbook - 'The English Legal System Course Companion and Revision Guide' by Jo Smillie is a highly recommended revision textbook (you can order from Amazon.co.uk).

Differentiation Issues

Students wishing a top grade in AS Law are advised to use both the new Jacqueline Martin textbook 'OCR Law for AS' and a different/alternative textbook so that they can develop a new insight into the subject. Recommended alternative books are: 'AS Law for OCR by Elliott & Quinn [2008] - for quality and depth try: 'AS Law' by Elliott & Quinn.

If you passed an AS Law Module and wish to improve your grade next time - you are advised to purchase ... 'AS Law for OCR by Elliott & Quinn [2008] - This will help give you a new and more advanced insight into the subject.

If you struggle with Law, and/or have failed an AS Law Module and wish to pass next time, you are advised to consider purchasing 'AS Law for OCR' by Jimmy O'Riordan which is full of pictures and is easier to follow (this book can also be used for a revision aid).
